Our Brannan Cabernet Sauvignon is a bright, pure expression of Calistoga Cabernet, reminiscent of the 50s and 60s—wines that are still aging and taste beautiful today.
The wine shows a dark ruby color with aromas of red plum, black cherry, and currant gracing the nose. On the palate, firm structure and natural tannins provide a gripping, intense mouthfeel, leading to a long, supple finish. This wine will continue to get better and better with time and will age beautifully for 30+ years.
Cabernet Sauvignon was one of the first grapes planted in Calistoga by Sam Brannan himself in 1862. This variety has long reigned as the king of red wines due to its powerful flavors, length of mouthfeel, and long-term age-ability.
